Mastering
Uhm... that 5%...
Mastering is a crucial part of any production — but that last 5% is often the hardest to reach… and the one that makes all the difference.
- This is where we achieve that final 5% through subtle but meaningful adjustments that ensure your music meets all standards at the major streaming platforms, translate properly to any speakers, insert all meta data, etc.
- Using WaveLab 12 Pro, I apply subtle, precise adjustments with critical listening to reach that final 5%.
- Final masters can be delivered in any high-quality format required for today’s industry standards.
Studio Mixing
Everybody needs space...
Mixing comes with one big challenge: we only hear between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, which means every instrument has to find its place within that range.
- This has been my main focus over the years. I work to ensure every instrument is clearly defined, so each one has its own space and purpose in the mix
- Working in Pro Tools with a collection of high-end, fully licensed plugins, I aim to bring out the full potential of each recording.
- But not everything has to stay in the box. I’ll soon be adding analog gear — because the music deserves it.
Live Mixing
Let go with the flow...
For years, my approach has been simple: “We do hi-fi, so let’s stick to that.” I believe that often, less is more—and that’s what I love about this work. At the same time, I fully embrace modern technology, using every tool available to serve the music in the best possible way.
- Every show is approached with decisions shaped by experience, knowledge, and a deep understanding of live sound.
- Achieving the highest fidelity is my priority, starting with precise microphone placement to capture every performance perfectly.
- I do my best to solve any issues that arise during the show, though I prefer to prepare well in advance to avoid problems altogether.
- ve shows are unpredictable—audience, performers, the energy in the room—so I mix in real time, adjusting to what the performance calls for. Maybe the drums need more punch, or a guitar solo needs to shine. Every choice is made to support the music and the moment.
Cleaning/Repair
That noise shouldn't be there?
Sometimes tracks have noises or frequencies that don’t belong. Thanks to today’s technology, we can clean and repair them with precision.
- Unwanted low frequencies in a recording? Using Spectral Repair, I can remove them while keeping the rest of the track intact.
- Unwanted clicks, like those from claps or other transients, can be effectively removed while preserving the rest of the track.
- At the studio, we pay attention to every detail—because even the smallest element can make a big difference.
