Live Mixing
Let go with the flow...
All this year I have been rule with: "...we do hi-fi let stick on that..." most of the times less is more and this is why I love, but this doesn't mean that I won't take advantages with all the goodies that technology offer nowadays.
- In all my show I will offer the best option in base of my experience and knowledge.
- Always I will try to get the high fidelity as can be, setting up the mic in the best place possible for the show.
- I will do my best to fix any issue that comes along with the show, either way I rather prepare myself way in advance to avoid them.
- Show, audience, performers, everything is live so I mix in base of how the show goes and what the show might need, maybe a bit more of drums, or that guitar solo must be a bit louder, etc.
Studio Mixing
Everybody needs space...
We have just one big problem, we just hear between 20hz -20khz, and all instrument has to be fit in it.
- Well this has been my main focus over the years. I always try to set all instrument can be easily identify and everyone one has they space
- Using Pro Tools along with a bunch of high end plugins, fully license. I will try to get the most of recordings.
- But not everything has to happen in the box, sooner will be adding some analog gear, because music deserve it.
Mastering
Uhm... that 5%...
Mastering is one of those process that are really important in any production, but that 5% is one of the most difficult to get...
- Here, we will try to get that extra 5%, with very settle changes and make it right to all main streaming platform.
- At the moment, I just do “In the Box” Mastering with the best plugins in the market, of course fully license.
Audio Books
Just a voice...?
In this new era and helping to other people to be part of a good story that usually books carry on them...
- I will even up all the recordings to make it sound according to the story, cleaning breathing, popping sound, “dry mouth sound”, etc.
- Apply subtle reverbs to make it sound more naturally and then all the goodies you can use to make rich a voice.
- Also with an extra fee can be sound effects (SFX) can be some simple e.i Bubbles, or maybe something way more complex. That will be based of what you want.
